The cruise ships are ships designed specifically for the transport of persons . The largest known versions as cruise ships and mainly used by the tourism sector, are prepared to make long journeys on routes all over the world , allowing passengers to enjoy a different and special way of knowing countries in many cases , they are unexplored by other means of transport . So today we analyze the five largest passenger ships in the world, ranked by the capacity of gross tonnage .
5.- The Norwegian Breakaway.- is the first of two cruisers built for Project Breakaway Norwegian Cruise Line ( NCL ) . The ship is in service since April 2013 and currently sailing in varied routes between Bermuda , southern Caribbean and the Bahamas and Florida. This is also , from the largest to have home port cruise ship in New York .
The boat has a capacity of gross tonnage of 144,017 GT , a length of 324 m, a width of 39.7 m and a draft of 8.3 m . The passenger capacity is 4,028 double occupancy , while the size of the crew can reach 1,505 people. The ship can sail at a speed of 21 knots ( 38.8 km / h ) using diesel-electric propulsion .

4. RMS Queen Mary 2.- With a budget of 700 million euros, it is the largest ocean liner ever built since it was launched in 1969 the Queen Elizabeth 2. The QM 2 entered service in January 2004 as the flagship of Cunard Line. Currently it covers the transatlantic voyage between Southampton and New York.
The ship has a length of 345 meters, a width of 41 meters and a draft of 10.1 . 3.- The Freedom of the Seas, Independence of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas.- three Freedom class cruise ship owned by Royal Caribbean International, which were built in the STX Europe shipyard in Turku in Finland. Freedom of the Seas, the first of the three ships, set sail on its maiden voyage in May 2006, while the Liberty of the Seas has been in service since May 2007, Independence of the Seas, from May 2008.
Each ship has a length of 338.9 m and a draft of 8.5 m. Sleeve Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas is 56.3 m, while the Independence of the Seas is 55.9 m. With regard to the capacity of gross tonnage, they have three 154,407 GT, with a propulsion system based on six Wärtsilä 46 diesel engines V12 12.6 MW three ABB Azipod units and four bow thrusters, reaching a speed Cruise 21.6 knots (40 km / h).

1.-The Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas.- are two passenger ships of class Oasis owned by Royal Caribbean International, built by STX Europe in their yards Turku in Finland. In December 2009, the maiden voyage of Oasis of the Seas took place while sister ship, Allure of the Seas, entered service in December 2010, with Port Everglades in Florida, the home port for the two cruises.
Both ships have a length of 361.8 m, maximum beam of 60.5 m, a depth of 9.3 m and a capacity of gross tonnage of 225,282 GT. They also have eight engines and four diesel V12 Wärtsilä bow thrusters of 7,607 hp, allowing to reach a maximum cruising speed of 22.6 knots (41.8 km / h). Each ship has 2,706 cabins can accommodate 6,296 passengers, which users can choose from a wide variety of accommodation options, including 28 loft suites on two levels. It also has an amphitheater, five pools, climbing walls, mini-golf, nightclubs and casinos, among other facilities.
